It's the first time I put this tire on the Volvo XC70, and I am impressed as it is better than the previous Goodyear Ultra grip. This is very smooth and doesn't make any noise, excellent cornering at 65 mph with snow, and better than Dunlop Graspic on the Subaru Outback. For me it's the best - 10 stars.

It was the first time that I had bought the General Altimax Artic, and I was very impressed with them in any condition. I still have those tires. The General Altimax are on my Volvo v70. I didn't put lots of mileage on them yet, so they will be good for this winter coming. -Daniel

This car was like a luge in the winter. Dangerous. Living in the Northeast, I needed something that could handle ice, deep snow, and severe conditions. This tire is EXCEPTIONAL. I have had two sets and they are the best winter tires I have ever had. Great price. Great safety, great traction. BUY it!

Struggled through the 1st year with the Veloster on OE tires (18" option, 1 size over) and they were absolutely the worst tires I ever had on a car in the snow. OK in dry and wet but would scare the heck out of you once the white stuff stuck. Decided that dedicated snow tires would be needed. After LOTS of research, I decided on the General Altimax Arctic and what sealed the deal was finding out that this tire was formerly the Gislaved Nordfrost 3 which I knew from years ago was the tire to run if you were going to ice race. I'm sure time and technology could produce a better tire but at a greater cost. Knowing the snow and ice performance this tire had, I knew it would be a great bargain and would perform excellently. Bought a set of 15" rims (2000 Mitsubishi Gallant 15" rims are a perfect match) which is 2 under the stock 17" and had these beasts of a tire mounted. Absolutely AWESOME tire in dry, wet, and snow/icy conditions!!! Wear has been excellent and expect to get a few seasons out of them. Had them put on in December and are now coming off early May. Would have been 5 stars for everything but gave it a 4 for steering response which may be justified because of the larger sidewall between the 18" and 15". You can't go wrong with this tire for an excellent performing, bargain, dedicated snow tire! A new set of Hankook S1 Noble 2s on the 18" rims replaces them for the other 3 seasons and I will post a review after I get some miles on them. I have been a customer of this shop for years and it is difficult to beat their customer service and price. Thank you to the crew!

Have about 12k miles on them, mostly winter miles. I have a 60 mile daily commute into Boston. They handle all roads including "S-curves" at high speed with no problem. Drove through a few good blizzards with these while other vehicles were pulled over. WAY better than my other Bridgestone Blizzaks. Great handling and traction on all road conditions, minimal tread wear, and they wear VERY evenly. No noticeable MPG difference, low road noise for snow tires. 100% recommended with no complaints.
